Our Team
With years of experience across every hair type and style, each member of Sunday's team brings their own skill and personality to the shop.
Andre is a second-generation barber. In fact, much of his family is in the hair industry. He got his chops from cutting friends and family's hair in his parents’ garage as a young adult, and hasn’t looked back since.
Being able to express his creativity through his craft is what keeps him excited to cut hair every day. Andre appreciates the everyday barbershop banter and social aspect of the job, as well as the rich history and tradition of the craft. Pleasing and educating clients on their hair is the most gratifying aspect of the job for Andre.
Andre is fortunate enough to be able to work with his dog, Chunk. When not at the shop, he’s hanging out with his wife, friends, and family. He frequents neighborhood spots like Nurish and Saigon Bistro. He’s also a regular at Razza. Andre enjoys snowboarding, traveling, and riding his motorcycle when time allows.
Rich is the backbone of the shop. He’s been assuming responsibility since the day he started. With an old-school mindset, he’s a hard worker and gets people to rise to the occasion.
As a barber, Rich appreciates the relationships he’s built with clients and catching up with good friends in his chair. In high school, he would get haircuts in the city with his friends, leaving the barbershop feeling on top of the world. This feeling inspired Rich to become a barber himself.
When he’s in Jersey City, he enjoys getting takeout from Veloce or dining in at Corto. Rich also enjoys watching movies from all parts of the world and through all generations. Whether it’s at home or going to theaters (Film Forum, IFC, Metrograph). Being a sports fan isn’t always enjoyable since he roots for the Jets and Mets, but you can catch him talking trash every day he’s at the shop.
Mark is one of the most talented barbers we have. With the right blend of creativity, attention to detail, and experience, you won’t find a more well-rounded barber. His personality and light-heartedness will bring energy to any room he enters. He’s a hard worker and dedicated to his craft.
Mark knows all too well the confidence a new haircut can provide. Providing that to his clients is what he loves about the craft. Seeing his clients' reactions when they leave the chair makes cutting hair a labor of love. What drew Mark to barbering is being able to express himself in a creative space, where your work is fully appreciated.
Most mornings, Mark likes to start his day with a workout. On sunny days, he enjoys riding his motorcycle. Although he doesn’t have a pet, he makes sure that Chunk is always taken care of. Growing up in Jersey City, Mark is well known around town. He enjoys going to Abbeys Pub, where he will always know a few people hanging out.
Dave has become a staple at the Jersey Ave location. With a big personality and a true passion for the craft, he treats each client like they’re his only client. He’s a jack of all trades and has lived a thousand lives. All of his life experience equips him to talk to anyone in his chair.
Previously, Dave worked outdoors in the elements. When he got tired of working in the hot summers and cold winters, he decided to give barbering a try. Now you can find him comfortably cutting hair, cracking jokes, and making people feel welcomed in a space he spends the majority of his time.
When Dave’s not behind the chair, you can probably find him golfing, giving out bad investment advice, and watching the Mets with his dog Jack.
No one knows the ins and outs of Sundays quite like Jesus. With over a decade of experience, he’s woven into the threads of the shops. He has a great ability to connect with the team and clients alike.
As an Assistant, Jesus was originally inspired to cut hair from seeing the skills and genuine enjoyment of his peers. He entered the industry to embrace the creative opportunities it offers. As a barber, he enjoys connecting with people through hearing their stories and is always developing new skills and techniques.
When Jesus isn’t at the shop, you can find him working out or unwinding by watching movies and shows. He’s also a regular at El Ranchero Taqueria, where they know him by name.
Théard is a fan of barbering, and it shows. He’s plugged into the culture, latest trends, techniques, and gear. His dedication has led him to become an incredible barber in a short amount of time.
T’s entry into barbering came by way of his brother. During the pandemic, with no experience, his brother trusted him and thanked him for cutting his hair. It felt nice to help someone feel better during those times, and for T, barbering became that. He parlayed that feeling into a full day's worth of appointments, where keeping up with clients throughout the years and watching them grow, one milestone at a time, brings him joy; And as T would put it, watching the quality of work grow year to year. I really love outdoing myself and giving anyone my best. My best is my next.
When T’s not connecting with his clients at the shop, he’s hanging out with Summer, his little golden doodle. He enjoys going to the movie theatre, concerts, and sporting events. T also frequents El Ranchero Taqueria and discovering new records at Iris Records.
Stef is a Jersey City native. With a knack for cutting hair and a passion for customer service, you won’t find a more natural barber in this town.
Since joining the team, they have combined a lifelong passion for creativity with barbering. Transitioning from a background as a florist, they realized that the same eye for detail and expression could be applied to cutting hair. Stef’s favorite part of the craft is the ability to build community one conversation at a time while perfecting every cut.
When they aren't at the shop, you’ll likely find them riding their motorcycle, playing electric guitar, or reading. They are also regulars at Kaffa. Stef and her wife, Francesca, have a German Short-haired Pointer named Tokyo, whom Stef would describe as the craziest GSP in Jersey City. He’s a regular at the shop, and once in a while, Tokyo and Chunk hang out together at the Monmouth Street location.
Carlos has a passion for connecting with his clients, and it shows. He’s developed a rabid fan base over his years at the shop. He’s a talented barber who prides himself on giving his all to each client. He’s got a great work ethic and is more than happy to lead by example.
Barbering is a family trade for Carlos. He was first introduced to the craft by two of his cousins. Both of which have made a name for themselves in the barbering industry. Carlos previously was a supervisor at a manufacturing plant, where there wasn’t much socializing. He gets a lot of enjoyment out of meeting new clients and allowing them to feel themselves while they’re in the chair.
Carlos and his wife Naomi have a cat named Luna and a dog named Ladybug. He loves to cook and is intrigued by making dishes from scratch. When he’s not cheffing it up in the kitchen, he enjoys going to Luna with his wife, where they enjoy sitting in the loft.
Shea is a talented young barber who started cutting hair as a teenager. Shea learned the tools of the trade exceptionally quickly. Graduating from high school with a barber license to boot, he started working at a shop, refining his skills. Sundays Barber Shop is lucky to have crossed paths with Shea.
Shea’s journey began during the quarantine. His dad served as his first "victim". What started as a way to bond and experiment eventually turned into a deep love for the craft as he researched and refined his skills. For Shea, the best part of barbering is being part of clients' pivotal moments—whether it's for a wedding, a job interview, or just a fresh look, he enjoys it when the client finally feels like their best self.
Shea is a regular for lunch at Tacos Victoria, which is a short walk from the shop. He loves working on his car, bowling, and riding his motorcycle.
Andria brings a calm energy with a big personality to the shop. Her barbering career started over a decade ago, but was put on hold until 2024. She picked up where she left off and has made a name for herself at both of our shops.
Andria’s inspiration stemmed from witnessing females infiltrate a male-dominated industry. Showcasing her artistic abilities and meeting new people is what she enjoys most about being a barber.
In Andria’s free time, she likes to hang out with her cat, Tuna. She also enjoys cooking, working out, and traveling. You may spot her at Madeline, her favorite cafe in Jersey City.
Jorge is a natural-born barber. He’s curious to learn about people and their perspectives, eager to constantly improve on his barbering skills, and takes advantage of every opportunity to improve himself.
For Jorge, the act of creating something that not only looks pleasing to the eye but also elevates someone is extremely satisfying. Connecting with clients and building a sense of community is what he loves about barbering.
Commuting from Queens, Jorge often likes to relax before work at the Starbucks by the PATH station. He has two cats named Ralph and Rudy. Jorge loves reading, watching films, and playing video games. He also dabbles in photography and enjoys walks on nice days.
Chunk has been a shop dog since the early weeks of his life. It’s what he knows best. His insatiable demand for pets and chill demeanor allow him to excel at his role here at Sundays.
Chunk enjoys hanging out with all the clients that walk into the shop, as long as it doesn’t interfere with his strict, regimented schedule of naps. You can catch him sunbathing in the windows or guilt-tripping clients into petting him. Chunk wouldn’t be the same without the shop, and the shop wouldn’t be the same without Chunk.
When Chunks is not in the shop, he’s most likely at home sleeping or hanging with his parents. He also enjoys chewing on toys and light exercise.
